O son! Rare and blessed are those, who observing
the useless efforts of the people to satisfy their lust
for life, luxuries and knowledge, are free from these.(9.2)

grieves about something, rejoices at something

When mind does not desire anything, does not
grieve about anything, neither accepts nor
discards anything, neither happiness nor anger

                                            (with English connotation)
King Janak says :

In the infinite ocean of my Self, the entire world is
like a boat, which wanders here and there driven
by its own wind. But this does not disturb me.(7.1)

Though the world rises like waves in the infinite
ocean of my Self, yet due to this rise and fall of
waves, my Self does not lose or gain anything.(7.2)

In the infinite ocean of my Self, the world is like
imagination or dream. I am supremely peaceful
and formless and I am nothing but Self.(7.3)

In that infinite and spotless state, there is no
feeling of I or of any other object. In that
un-attached, desireless and peaceful state
he exists in Self.(7.4)

It is surprising that I am pure consciousness
and this world is like a magic. How and where
the thought of good or bad may exist in me.(7.5)
